Hamada Shoji
濱田庄司
Hamada Shoji (1894-1978) was the Living National Treasure of Japan and a giant in the global history of studio ceramic art. The modern expression he developed influenced western potters through Bernard Leach with whom Hamada helped. Throughout his life, he demonstrated excellent glazing.
